The no-bake molding line at OKFoundryis most efficient for short runs of 25, 50 or 100castingsof 50 to 250 lbs. in gray orductile iron. Setups are quick on a no-bake molding line and frequent deliveries of short runcastingscan ramp production to significant volumes of lean supply.

In 1961, Wells Manufacturing Company introduced theprocessof continuousiron castinginto North America. Theprocesswas originally developed in Europe after World War II as an alternate method of producing castironbar stock without patterns and conventional molding methods.

Q: When we produceductile iron, we use the pour-over method of treating the baseironduring furnace tapping. This method is less than ideal for our large treatment size and results in excessive alloy additions (>1.5% addition rate). We also struggle with inconsistent magnesium recoveries, excessive slag and dross, and significant temperature loss.
